With my newest fundraising venture underway, I am excited to be walking 6 miles to raise money for the March of Dimes. Anyone who knows me is aware that walking 6 miles typically takes me 2-3 weeks, adding the daily totals. Now that I am a neonatal intensive care nurse, my perspective has changed and 6 miles does not seem like that far to walk.
Unfortunately the walk is in 13 days, so I don’t have much time to raise money. After some brainstorming, I realized that the only way to raise money quickly is to have a bunch of celebrities sing on TV.
Unfortunately I do not know any celebrities, but I did what I could to inspire readers to donate money to my cause once again.
I hope you will enjoy my rendition of USA for Africa’s “We Are the World!” (And I apologize in advance for all of my terrible impersonations. The good news is that I will never be able to sing again because I blew my voice trying to do Stevie Wonder…)
UPDATE: The walk was a huge success, and I ended up as the #1 fundraiser on my team thanks to everyone who donated (not bad for only having 13 days when everyone had 2 months…just sayin…) I won a mug with candy in it, so if you donated and would like to share the wealth, let me know and I’ll send you a bite size snickers. THANK YOU!
If by chance anyone watched the video and still wants to donate after the fact, go to www.marchofdimes.com!
